What is Emotional Logic?

Emotions are guides

The method of Emotional Logic highlights the significant role of emotions in human behaviour and decision-making. It emphasises that emotions are not just irrational impulses or subjective experiences, but rather, they represent complex and sophisticated forms of information processing. They serve as guides that help us make sense of the world around us and steer our actions.

Emotions are adaptive responses

According to Dr Trevor Griffiths, who developed Emotional Logic, emotions are adaptive responses to specific situations, resulting from the interaction between our inner world (thoughts, beliefs, memories, and values) and the external environment (people, events, situations). This method suggests that emotions are not inherently good or bad; instead, they are responses that help us tackle challenges and achieve our goals.
